One of the recent trends in home building is the inclusion of a bedroom on the main for aging parents.  According to the AARP multi-generational households has grown from 5 million in 2000 to to 6.2 million in 2008.

At LakeStone in Woodstock, nearly 90% of our new home sales include a guest bedroom on the main.  In addition to the combining of households, parents are taking an active role in the building process. 

Tom Sharp has recently re-designed the Thornberry design to not only include a bedroom on the main, but also 5 bedrooms on the second floor.
