This year according to Mayflower Moving, 43 million Americans will pack up their belongings and move into a new home. I’ve put together a list of the “Top Ten Items Most Homeowners Forget to Do Before/During Moving”:
#1 – Put your new address in your wallet or cell phone. I guarantee you will be opening a new account or setting up an appointment and you will forget your new address. E-mail, text or update your social networking sites with your new information.
#2 – You will probably need a new Physician, Grocery Store, Pharmacy, Dry Cleaners, Accountant, Bank, and Veterinarian.
#3 – New Driver’s License – You must apply for a Georgia driver’s license within 30 days of becoming a Georgia resident.
#4 – Contact your old post office with mail forwarding instructions. Change magazine subscriptions.
#5 – Bring cleaning supplies – Your new sharp home will be clean, but you may drop or spill something while you are unpacking.
#6 – Garage Door Openers – Put in your cars.
#7 – Utilities – Don’t forget Gas, Electric, Water/Sewer, Phone, Internet Providers, Cable.
#8 – Spare keys – Don’t forget to distribute.
