• Shopping Conveniences abound at Liberty Park

The eagerly anticipated redevelopment of the existing Moore’s Mill Shopping Center and surrounding area into a medium density mixed-use development remains scheduled and is slated for construction to begin in late 2010. According to sources the project will involve the redevelopment of over 11 acres of property by the developer, Edens and Avant, into a 45,600 square foot Publix grocery store, as well as, 55,456 square feet of convenience retail, restaurants and 345 residential sites. A section of the redevelopment a brand new 11,800 square foot free standing CVS pharmacy has already been completed and opened earlier this year.

The new Moore’s Mill development will also include the construction of over 1,300 linear feet of new roads. These new roads, which are to be constructed by the developer and the City, will form a grid street pattern. These improvements, along with the soon to be completed four lane bridge over the Chattahoochee, should provide substantial traffic relief during high travel time periods.

Liberty Park and surrounding area residents will be able to take advantage of the convenient location for shopping, groceries, dining and as a meeting place. The new development will be very pedestrian-friendly and will provide outside gathering places consisting of two plazas located at the center of the project. Construction is scheduled to take approximately a brief 18 months for completion.
