On any given weekend, there are hundreds of things to do in Atlanta, but during a holiday weekend, like this weekend, there seems to be thousands of things to do. Residents at Liberty Park are going to have a difficult decision on how to spend their Valentine’s Day weekend because the city is buzzing with parties, restaurant specials and other celebrations, all of which are conveniently located near the intown Atlanta townhome community. Isn’t living in Atlanta fantastic? You’d much rather have the dilemma of too many things to do instead of nothing to do. Anyway, here are some highlights of this Valentine’s Day in Atlanta:
Friday, February 12th:
- Champagne & Chocolate Masquerade Ball – Kick off the weekend with a delectable chocolate-themed soiree. The Sky’s the Limit club is hosting their 3rd Annual Masquerade ball at the Spring 4th Center. They will have a chocolate dessert buffet as well as overflowing chocolate fountains. It’s a Black Tie Optional affair and masks are required, however if you don’t have one you can purchase one at the door for $3 – $5. Price is $20 per person and includes champagne and the chocolate buffet. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
- Martinis & IMAX at Fernbank – the traditional Friday night event at Fernbank museum has had a Valentine’s makeover. They’ll be offering special love-struck cocktails, heart-thumping tunes by the Kayla Taylor Quartet and sweet treats from the Fernbank cafe. The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m.
- Speed Dating at Lenox – finally an event for all of the Atlanta singles. Spend Friday night on 20 mini dates. Check in is at 6:30 and the dating begins at 7:00 p.m. The event is for people aged 23 – 35 and it’s only $10 to attend. You may even find a Valentine before the night is through!
Saturday, February 13th:
- Valentines in the Garden – For only $30 per person, you can have an incredibly romantic Saturday night in the garden surrounded by fragrant orchids. You’ll have many sweet treats to indulge your palette and a complimentary glass of pink champagne. Guests have the chance to win a variety of luxury prizes like a diamond necklace or tropical getaway to Aruba. The party begins at 7:00 p.m.
- 2 Across – Lighten up this holiday weekend with a comedic performance at the Relapse theater. Tickets are only $10 at the door and the performance begins at 8:00 p.m. This is just like watching a live action romantic comedy, fun for a date night or girls night out.
Restaurants:
All weekend long, many of Atlanta’s best restaurants are offering Valentine’s Day specials. It is probably cutting it a little close by now to make reservations for the weekend, but maybe you can try to persuade the hostess/chef to squeeze you in. Any one of these would be a romantic destination for Valentine’s Day:
- Bluepointe
- Kyma
- Melting Pot
- Atlanta Fish Market
- Chops Lobster Bar
- Sundial
- Dogwood
- Pricci
- Nava
- Bistro Niko
- Buckhead Diner
Whatever you choose to do this weekend, we hope you have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
