• Woodstock’s Friday Night Live Series Commences March 5th

We hope you haven’t put away your beads and masks just yet because Mardi Gras may have taken place weeks ago, but Woodstock is continuing the celebration on Friday night, March 5th. For the past three years, Mardi Gras on Main has been the kick-off event for the Friday Night Live series, and it is a favorite event among Woodstock residents.

Anyone that has only recently purchased one of the Woodstock new homes at Lakestone and is unfamiliar with the Friday Night Live series, allow us to elaborate. On the first Friday of the month, typically from March through November, downtown Woodstock merchants stay open late and offer special products and deals throughout the evening. Plus, the streets are filled with live music and other entertainers, and, depending on the night’s theme, other events will take place in the gazebo or park. It’s a great time for Woodstock residents of all ages to get together and have fun while supporting local merchants at the same time.

For the 3rd Annual Mardi Gras On Main, musicians, artists and other Mardi Gras themed activities will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and participating merchants will have Mardi Gras themed activities or products at their stores/restaurants.

The event will feature a Mardi Gras foot parade as the candidates for King and Queen of Mardi Gras on Main make its way through downtown on the journey to the park. The parade will start at 8:30pm at the corner of Main St and Towne Lake Pkwy in front of Seven Arrows. The parade will end at the Gazebo in the City Park where the King & Queen of the event will be crowned.

Anyone planning on attending is encouraged to dress up in your best Mardi Gras attire for the event. The Mardi Gras foot parade is open the public as well, if you want to join in the parade you are more then welcome.

Be sure to stay up to date with all of the Friday Night Live events for 2010 as you can expect to see 80’s night, summer of love, Oktoberfest, Siete de Mayo and more!
